Chris McMahan

Chris is an entrepreneurial-minded IT leader experienced in start-ups, healthcare, and retail solutions. With over 25 years of IT experience, he utilizes a combination of technology expertise and business acumen to identify innovative solutions that drive profitability. Chris is a computer programmer by trade, and utilizes his fundamental understanding of systems and people to help all types of organizations capitalize their technology investment.

Experience

Chris has implemented and modified financial and supply chain systems for clients in a wide variety of industries and managed every aspect of the SDLC. He has grown an IT department from a disparate group of contractors to a cohesive group of empowered employees. Taking a retail chain from 200 to over 1,200 locations taught him how to scale systems and leverage people to achieve success.

Chris was also a founding partner in several small businesses where he ran IT, accounting, and operations functions including a custom SaaS implementation. Recently, Chris was part of a team that manages the Enrollment Broker application for Texas Health and Human Services. This system facilitates eligibility determination and plan/MCO selection for over 4 million individuals for Medicaid and CHIP.

Background

Chris was a founding partner of Monarch Diagnostics where he developed and managed the Video Ambulatory EEG (VEEG) Program. Chris created the processes, procedures, and metrics to manage the very complicated logistics of this Medicare Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF). Chris also had to ensure HIPAA and Medicare standards were met to ensure proper provider billing, which would kick off a complex revenue management process.

While living in Arizona, Chris was CIO of Wireless Retail, Inc. where he leveraged technology to manage explosive growth. During his tenure, his team designed, developed and maintained a custom, proprietary POS system serving more than 1,200 retail locations. He also coordinated an infrastructure team to support 6,000 employees in 48 states with stores located inside big box retailers.

Chris started his career as a Project Manager at Grant Thornton, LLP’s Dallas, Texas office. He also managed the iSeries group as technical and managerial lead.

Chris holds a BBA in Information Systems and Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and children and enjoys many outdoor activities, including snow skiing, visiting the Gulf Coast, and following the Texas Longhorns. Chris volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Dell Children’s Council, and Marathon Kids.
