1. Collect raw data from as many sources as possible. The more data sources you have the greater the insights you will gain.

2. Start to organize the data in appropriate storage areas. This will help you access it when and where you need at the appropriate time.

3. This is the storage stage of the process

4. The first analysis stage of data intelligence is data alchemy, at this point you will begin to refine the data to gain general insights.

5. Next you will start to tell stories and visualize the data with charts, graphs, and visualizations. This will allow you to more easily see trends in the data.

6. Using an AI will further refine the data and allow you to see into the future. This will allow you to make facts based decisions in your future planning.

7. This is the processing stage.

1. This entire process is called the DIKW chain. the first stage is “data”

2. Next you have “Information”

3. Followed by “knowledge”

4. Lastly you gain “wisdom” which allows you to make better future decisions.

5. Machines do the bulk of the heavy lifting in the initial stages

6. Human discernment and insights are the name of the game in the processing stage of the DIKW chain
