Donovan Taylor

Donovan Taylor is an AI and automation acceleration engineer at Future Point of View. He specializes in applied artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software architecture, and has built production systems across biotechnology, robotics, and agriculture. His focus is translation: turning the way an organization operates into the data structures and processes that make technology useful.

Experience

Donovan spent four years as chief data scientist at Finally Skincare, an NIH-funded biotechnology startup, where he led data science for a skin metabolomics platform and managed a team of PhD researchers. His machine learning pipelines identified biomarker panels from more than 40,000 compounds that distinguish atopic dermatitis, meeting every aim of the company’s NIH grant. He presented the work at the IFSCC Congress in Barcelona.

Since 2024, Donovan has consulted independently for businesses whose operations had outgrown their software. For Gourmet For Good, a multimillion-dollar corporate catering company, he reverse-engineered two end-of-life systems and rebuilt them as a single platform that now runs the company’s front office, kitchen, payments, accounting, and customer ordering. For Aspen Book Company, he built the computer vision software for a sorting line that identifies and routes 12,000 books a day.

As chief technology officer of Radical Shoots, an urban agriculture company, he moved a paper-based operation onto connected infrastructure and grew its client base from 13 restaurants to more than 55.

Background

Donovan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Scientific Computing from Vanderbilt University, where he built models that predicted psychiatric diagnoses from 70,000 patient health records, and has written software for clinical laboratories since 2017.

A native of Midwest City, he returned to Oklahoma after nearly a decade in Nashville. He is also a musician, and his first company applied machine learning to percussive sound design
