Steve Perkins

Steve Perkins has 30+ years of experience in information technology management and consulting. He is on a mission to help organizations with technology strategy, business efficiency and process improvement, risk management and compliance with privacy and data security requirements. He can act as an advisor or a fractional CIO.

Experience

Steve spent 19 years leading IT at HoganTaylor LLP, a Top 100 CPA firm, the last 15 as chief information officer There he provided strategic leadership and was responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of all firm technology innovation and process improvement initiatives. He was focused on client service and value creation through implementation of leading edge solutions to the benefit of client service, business process improvement, employee efficiency and work-life balance.

Steve began his career in IT with no formal education in computers or technology. Instead, he learned “from the ground up”, driven by a fascination with the ever-increasing power of computer technology and its potential to add value to an organization.

In 2013, Steve was the inaugural recipient of the “Bridging the Gap in Technology” award given by Boomer Consulting, Inc. This national award recognizes an individual in the accounting industry who excels in aligning organizational and IT strategy.

Background

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a graduate of Leadership Tulsa. He earned a BBA in Finance from Northeastern State University and an MBA from Oklahoma State University.
